A Christening

Dorothy is a Methodist. I guess that makes me one too. Seems like I am like a lot of men in that I go to the church my wife has chosen. I did that with my first wife Bethel who was a Baptist. Then Mary Kate was a Catholic. My third wife, Trixie, didn't favor any church particularly, but she did like tent revivals. We attended every one in sight. That was till she ran off with one of those tent preachers. Now I go to the Methodist church and today one of Dorothy's sister's grandchildren was christened. I like the Methodist Church. They are settled down and seem serious and sincere about the purpose of their existence. The one negative is the music; all the songs sound alike to me.
After the service, everyone came back to the big house for a little celebration. Dorothy had prepared scrambled eggs, fried green tomato eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, grits, hash brown potatoes, and assorted biscuits and pastries. Of course she had several juices and fruits. We all stood around on the front porch drinking coffee until we were called in. Then we ate to our heart's content.
